3 days in Buyeo (부여)

Buyeo (부여) was the capital of Baekje Kingdom and is located on the west side of the South Korea. I really enjoy the historical aspect of Korea so I made sure to make a stop here to see the Baekje Cultural Land. Another reason was because it was used as a filming location in Lee Jun Ki & IU's drama, "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Ryeo."

These are the hostel mates I shared the room with. They were extremely friendly & welcoming. I want to be traveling around when I am that age too! The younger one offered to drive us around and took us to Baekje Cultural Land & the Baekje Museum.

A Random Cafe for Dinner

I tried waiting for the bus for over an hour to go back to Baekje Cultural Land for the night view but... the bus never came... After the sunset and people watching, I just decided to grab dinner at the nearby cafe then head back to the hostel. I already had a productive day. The toast was so big that I wasn't able to complete it. One thing I don't like about traveling solo is wasting food. The next day, I waited for the bus again but after 30 minutes, I just took a taxi over.

The guard who was looking after this part of the village had motioned me to come up to the second floor to get a better view of the village. He even offered to take pictures for me. This is one of the few pictures with me in it. I'm so glad he took them for me.

Nakhwaam Rock

백제의집

After being told by a random taxi driver that I've yet to try the lotus leaf rice, I looked for one on Kakao Maps. I found this place & went for breakfast after my morning trip to Nakwaam Rock. This was a meal course for only 1 person. ONE PERSON! I had so much food left I felt so bad leaving leftovers. This was the best meal I had on this trip! I'd definitely go back here~

After this meal, I packed up my backpack & made the long trip back to Ulsan. In between this trip, I made a 1-day trip to Gonju to take a look at the fortress, the museum, and the tombs. I was also planning to go down to Iksan but I didn't make enough time to go further south. There wasn't much to do except for tombs and pagodas anyways. I only had one day in between to prepare for Japan as soon as I got home!

The next picture blog will be on my trip to Gongju!~

Please remember to come back for a new post every Friday.
