DMZ June 2016

Trip destinations —> Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)

On June 11th, 2016 (Sat), we woke up early to meet at the main gates of Yonsei University to take the shuttle bus to the meeting point for the tour bus to the DMZ. There are different pick-up stops that were available to choose from to prevent further travel from your place of residence. The tour bus was located in Myeongdong near City Hall. We booked our tour from the university Olleh store near the student dorms.

This is the layout of the DMZ area between North Korea and South Korea.

The view of North Korea.

The only photo I took of the food is blurry, so sad. But, we were served lunch during our tour.

This is the bridge between North and South Korea.

You are only able to take pictures when instructed. The blue building with the doors open is for tourists to enter and take a look. It's also where meetings are taken place between the two countries.

Sam~

My hair looks bad...

On the opposite side, there was only one soldier stationed.

This is inside of the blue building. You can take pictures of the soldiers and of the place. The side that I am currently taking a photo from is South Korea.

Now, we are in North Korea.

For this picture, you are on the side of North Korea. You also can not cross in front of this soldier (don't remember the reason). Some people did and they got yelled at.

If I remember correctly, this was the "Bridge of No Return." It was where they used to have prisoner exchanges.

The last stop was the Visitor Center with a gift shop.

A final picture with Debbie before heading back to Seoul.

My snack stash from the gift shop at the DMZ.

This trip was about 1 week and a half before I left Korea and headed for Japan. There was so much left to do but no time. The next blog will probably be the second last blog dedicated to my study/travel abroad in South Korea. But, come back for more of my travels~

Thank you~

Christina
