Soooooo, Minamo's birthday was a little over a month ago on the 11th of January (Yes, I'm very behind. But, don't worry I'm getting there~). We were all able to celebrate it together with my sisters, who finally came to Korea. Thanks to Debbie's suggestion of having a shirt of photos of Minamo for her birthday, we were all wearing matching t-shirts~ If you read the previous post on
The Coffee Prince Shop, it was this day that we chose the pictures, designed the shirts, and ordered them in Hongdae. They were really pretty and cool but just a little embarrassing to wear since we've never worn shirts with our pictures on them. It was an interesting and fun experience though :]
| We totally didn't plan for this picture and just ran into it when Debbie, Sam, and Minamo were taking it. |
| We all met up in the morning to eat brunch together before heading to La Douce in Hongdae. |
| We headed over to the Tteokbokki restaurant near our place in Sinchon called "Uncles" or "엉클스 떡볶이." Who eats spicy rice cakes in the afternoon? WE DO! It was seriously really good and cheesy~ Heidi, the maknae (youngest), got the honors of mixing and making us rice balls. I was surprised she was able to perfectly divided the rice into 8 equal sections. 잘했어요~ |
| Birthday girl~ |
| Here's a closer look at the dish. We ordered the topping (squid) as an extra. There's about 3 different topping you can choose from and you can add cheese if you want. I think there was a choice for types of tteok, rice cakes, too. |
| We thought we were going to get two separate dishes but this one came out by itself so we had to get another order since there was 7 of us :] |
| This is the second order, a regular one without the topping. |
| Haha, I love how we are all moving except for Shena :] |
| Making our way to Hapjeong Station to walk over to La Douce. |
| At La Douce~ She wore her birthday hat the whole day! Awesome! |
| A special latte just for her~ |
| Aren't these the cutest!? |
| Yay! |
| You can also get it cold~ |
| Cheesecake~~ |
| Having fun with the selfie stick~ |
| A lot of fun~ |
| More fun~ |
| Too much fun~ |
| They had their picture time with the sculpture. |
| We came to Common Grounds thanks to Debbie's planning~ 고마워요~ |
| It was really pretty and blue~ There was people but I was lucky to get this shot with no one in it. |
| Our model, Minamo! |
| Aren't the shirts pretty! |
| After walking around Common Grounds and going through the unknown Chinatown, we left for Itaewon. We weren't able to eat dinner here but the Line Friend Store was really fun! I wanted it ALL but Mary didn't want to buy anything for me... |
| I want this in my room~~ So cute! |
| I wouldn't mind this one in my room too, hehe. |
| We came back to Sinchon for some intestines for dinner at "Gopchang Iyagi/ 곱창 이야기" instead of the steak originally planned because of the long wait time for our group of 7. We had to wait a while here for a table too because there was so much people. We eventually split tables and sat across the room from each other to eat dinner since it was so packed. Pictured here is Kimchi Stew. |
| As a starter, they give tripe and raw liver to eat. I only ate the tripe but no one touched the raw liver at our table. Over at Minamo's table with Debbie and Mary, they all ate it. |
| They give some seasoned green onions and peppers and garlic. Sam and I ate the pepper and they were SPICY! Sam took a big bite of it too and it was too spicy for her. |
| We got the order with a little bit of everything~ So delicious |
| Our cool table~~ |
| We also order fried rice after finishing the main dish. |
| This is how it looked after cooking it. It looks delicious, right!? |
It was a long, fun, and exciting day~ Lots of things happened but we hoped that Minamo enjoyed her 21st birthday~~ It was also a cold day so I'm glad that no one got sick from us staying outside for too long. A BIG thanks to Debbie for planning the birthday day and to all the girls for helping out~
Thank you for reading!
Remember to come back again~
