IU's Chat-shire Concert Experience

Hi everyone! This post is about IU!!

On November 21st, I set off by myself from Sinchon Station on an hour subway ride to Olympic Park Station where IU's concert was being held. With the concert starting at 7pm, I left around 5 and got there a little after 6, standing the whole ride since there was so many people. It also didn't help that I was getting a mini headache and that day was so cold.
People were selling merchandise for Girls Generation and IU around the exit of the subway station. There were also people selling last minute tickets for IU's concert, though I wouldn't trust them. Then getting stop by a person spreading love for Jesus, I was surprise I understood what she was saying in Korean, I went towards the wrong stadium instead of turning after the restaurants.

I took a quick snap of the entrance area since people were being rushed to go to their seats.

I didn't know who it was for at first but "SMTown" was on the posters around the area. I was so confused that I asked one of the volunteers where I could pick up my ticket for the concert. She was really nice and helpful, speaking to me even in English when I spoke in Korean to her. She must have noticed the uncertainty in my question, hehe. After telling her I was going for IU's concert, she directed me in the right direction and I was able to get to the venue. It was also a good thing that I arrive early for the concert. The park area was well lit and there were only a few people but I felt safe enough to walk around by myself. Only after did it hit me that the concert venue before was where Girls Generation was holding their concert.

Since there was still 30 minutes left before the concert started, after getting my ticket, I sat down until the line to enter the venue was shorter. I sat at the last row in the stadium but they were really good seats! I had a great view and could make out IU from afar so I was okay. I sat in between a couple on my left and a family of 3 to my right. The family was so excited for the concert. The mother was screaming and her daughter was screaming "Unnie! IU Unnie!" They were so cute. The father was also waving his IU lightstick when his wife or daughter wasn't using it. I didn't see whatever was happening to the left of me but they were also excited for the concert. They even had their own IU lightsticks.

This is from my view. It is closer than it looks.

There was two girls who sat a little towards the front of our row but they didn't have any reaction. They just sat there... I just sat too but I at least moved my head to the music and screamed at some parts but they had no reaction. Maybe it was just me but they seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Even with the controversy around IU's song "Zeze," she sung it and people sung along. There were also volunteers who were looking out for people who were taking photos or filming the concert since it was prohibited. She had a photo session time where she allowed her fans to take pictures. When that happened, all you saw were small lights and shutter sounds in the concert venue. She is so pretty! So all the photos here ate only when we were allowed to film.

She also had guests, Dynamic Duo, who performed halfway through the concert. I couldn't recognize Choiza because of his hair but I recognized Gaeko. They sung their latest song and some older ones too, I don't know the titles. Everyone was jumping up and down. Afterwards, IU came onto the second floor and some lucky fans were able to high-five her while she made her way towards the stage. The camera guy got lost somewhere in the crowd and was left behind so there was some random close shots of fans and chairs.

After singing a few more songs and wrapping up the concert, she came out for her encore stage. I forgot the songs she sung for her encore stage but during this time, some people were leaving already.

After leaving the stage, people began to move out. BUT, IU decides to come back for her second encore stage and these fans literally ran to the VIP area when they heard her voice. People began taking out their cameras and phones to record. I guess that it didn't matter anymore so I took out my phone and started recording too :]

After singing a few more songs, she officially, officially left the stage and the curtains were drawn.

Goodbye from IU~

After getting out of the venue around 9pm, I didn't want to walk a big round to get back to where I came from since I was lost, so I followed the crowd and got out to the area I recognized and walked to the subway from there. On the hour subway ride back home, I stood again since there was so many people. I got home, ate, showered, then slept! It felt like such a long day but it was so fun!

The wifi was being weird so I couldn't edit and post this up 2 days ago. I will be starting on the next blog post soon but look forward to more coming up :]

Once again, thank you for reading~

I want to go to another concert! Oh yeah! I'm seeing Roy Kim this weekend!!! ♡ Yay~
