Seoul Lantern Festival

Hi everyone~~

This week's blog is about the Seoul Lantern Festival that is held yearly at the Cheonggyecheong Stream. This festival is held for two weeks and 2 days from the 6th of November to the 22nd of November. We went on Friday the 13th and it was a rainy day. We went to Gwangjang Market and ate street food there, which is in last week's food blog. After eating, we went down to the stream and started walking in the wrong direction since I wasn't sure which way was to the festival. We started walking in the direction to Dongdaemun and that was the wrong direction. After looking some more at the map, I realized that we were going the wrong way and Debbie used her phone to map the directions to the festival. After walking a little over a mile down the stream, we eventually got to the festival and it was so bright, colorful, and pretty. As always, thank you Debbie for providing some of your photos for the blog ♡

Group Picture of the night~~

This is one of the entrance into the Gwangjang Market. I would say look for the US flag but it's right there...

This is the entrance we took to get down to the stream after leaving the market.

We only saw a few people walking the stream since it was raining. We all got our shoes wet since there were so many puddles. I was good since I wore my boots.

The compact make-up displays.

I love the rain :]

Pucca~

Pororo and his friends.

The mural in the back is so cute~

This stream is located in the middle of the city, from the Gwanghwamun Square, and goes all way down to Dongdaemun, which is only as far as I've walked with the girls.

Mount Rushmore~

The stream at night and the silence of .

I always see these in commercials for the subway station and buses but I'm not sure what they are.

The stepping stones are pretty at night with the rain. It's used to cross the stream~

Here is the entrance under the bridge where they hang up the lanterns.

You can have your message put on these lanterns but you would have to apply for it through the application online and pay a small fee.

Here is a closer look at the lanterns.

These items were on sale under the bridge.

Owls~~

Another shot of the lanterns under the bridge.

A monkey shaped, post-it note thingy... I'm not sure what to call it.

The rainbow bridge is so pretty~

Another group picture at the Cafe.

Our dessert for the night: caramels drinks, cheese cake, strawberry cake, and tiramisu. They were delicious~~

Thank you for always reading and come back again for more pictures of my experiences in Korea :]

Yesterday (actually it was it two days ago but no one saw it because it snowed while everyone was sleeping) was also the first snow here in Sinchon. It was very pretty but it stopped when I walked to class at 3:30 pm. Today, it didn't snow at all and was sunny but it was very cold!

Check back for the Changdeokgung Palace pictures coming up soon~

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it and Happy Hmong New Year to my family and fellow Hmong people ♡
