Hi everyone! It felt so long since I've been on here. Here's some things I've done these past weeks.
On Saturday October 3rd, I went to the Kimchi Experience tour that I signed up during Orientation back in August. I thought that I wouldn't know anyone who was going but I saw Sam! Along with learning how to make Kimchi, we also had the chance to try on the various Hanboks provided, Traditional Korean Clothes. We were even given free green onion pancakes and Korean rice wine along with some of the Kimchi that we've just made. The hosts were very nice and welcoming and the Teacher is even famous among celebrities and have been on TV many times.

| Setting up for the start of the Kimchi making experience. |
| We were able to cut our own radishes and greens. It reminded me of when I made my own Kimchi back at home. The ingredients were the same but the greens used were a little different. |
| Thank you to the interpreter for taking pictures of the group while we were making Kimchi and thanks to the Yonsei leaders for sharing these photos~ |

| It's been one and a half weeks since I've looked at my Kimchi. |
| I should taste it in a few days to see if it is good~~ |

| My first time tasting Makeolli in Korea. It wasn't as bad as the first time I tasted it back at home. |

| Moon Guesthouse is where we went for the experience. |
| After my Kimchi experience, I came back home to Debbie and Shena watching the Thai drama, "Ugly Duckling." Since Shena didn't want to go out, Debbie and I went out by ourselves. We went to look at the different contact lens shops around Sinchon and also looked at the glasses shop. We initially planned to go watch "Sado" with English subs at the CGV in Yeouido but since Debbie won rock-paper-scissors against me, we went to watch the Firework festival that was also happening at the same time and at the same place. It was a very fun experience!! The fireworks were really pretty and colorful. There was a showtime for the Philippines, US, and Korea's fireworks show. It started from 7pm until about 9pm. There was so much people walking to the subway station and so much cars but people were really good about not pushing and shoving each other. |
| We came back to Sinchon and texted Shena to come eat dinner with us. We ate lamb for this night's dinner. It was really good, DELICIOUS~~ |
| This was also very good. It was a cold soup with acorn jelly. |
| Intestines~~ We also got service! It was very unexpected. They gave us another piece of the lamb chop (?), it is the same one as the 3rd picture up. |
| We went for dessert and had red velvet frozen yogurt and a cherry flavored patbingsoo~ |
On Sunday, we met up to go shopping at Ewha University. Shena and I bought new shirts/sweaters. I also got some new cardigans. We then went to Hongdae to go to the Bau House dog cafe. Afterwards, we went to eat at Haha's restaurant, shopping around Hongdae, then came back to Sinchon for dessert and went home for the night~~

| BBQ beef salad. I really liked the dressing. |
| Potato fries with Parmesan cheese. |
| Our pizza!!! |
| Here, we are in the Ewha shopping area. |
| This is at the entrance of Ewha University. We never knew that Ewha was this close to Yonsei. It was literally just down the street. It's faster to walk from Sinchon to Ewha than to take the Subway in my opinion. |
| The famous Ewha sitting stairs on the opposite side. |
| It was so bright! I had a hard time opening my eyes. |
| Our fruits! It was delicious. We also went again yesterday to eat more watermelon. The ones form yesterday was sweeter than these ones :] |
| After shopping around Edae and buying a few new sweaters and cardigan, we went to Hongdae for the Bau House dog cafe. |
| I was surprise that it didn't have a strong smell of dogs. 2 of the dogs were really, really big! This is one of them. |
| The white one here is a very hyper dog. He kept trying to play around with the one waiting for a treat. One of the other dogs got in trouble and had to go into time out. It was so cute! |
| Here are some of the dogs. They are scary when they see a snack because they will all huddle together and even jump on you. |
| Debbie is going to put in the order of our drinks. |
| Strawberry, Yogurt, and green tea smoothies. |
| The dog smelling for a treat but we didn't have any~ |
| Huddling around for a treat. |
| The large dog that climbed up on the side to get a snack from the people who was sitting behind us. |
| Then he decided to sit down for a while. |
| Shena and I with the dog. He was actually looking! |
| We had to wait when we got there but it was only for a few minutes. They have treats near the entrance where you can buy and give it to the dogs. You would have to buy a drink to stay in the cafe and the time limit is 30 minutes. I think we stayed more than 30 minutes and didn't get charged for it. |
| He looked away when Debbie tried taking the picture. |
| After the dog cafe, we went looking for Haha's bbq restaurant to go eat dinner. |
| Ohgyeopsal! 5 layer meat. |
| Our dosirak; lunchboxes! |
| Gopchang! Part of the intestines! |
| We saw these as we were walking to the main Hongdae shopping area, ice creams and macaron ice creams. |
| One of many sock shops around Hongdae. They sell these for 1,000 won each and some are about 500-1,000 won more depending on what you choose. |
| A k-pop merchandise store that I saw while we were walking. It was only a small section with folders. |

We had a gathering for dinner at the SK Global Lounge and ordered delivery. This is the one of the dorms located on campus. We went to Debbie's room first but changed location when there was too much of us and her roommate also came in the room to eat with her friend.Compared to my room, the dorms were a little smaller, but that is because our room is for two people. The goshiwon room for one person is half the size of our room. Our room also had a mini fridge while the dorms have their shared fridges in B3, the 3rd basement.
Our Gangster pose! Thank you Shena for taking the picture~ |
| We ate Bossam, Japchae, Fried Chicken, and then got ice cream from the GS25. We got some side dishes of mandu, dumplings, kimchi, and a spicy/sweet noodle dish. |
| The beginning of study week! I came to class 30 minutes early this Monday and there was no one in class yet. |
Midterms have already started for some people this Thursday and will continue until the end of next week. This week felt so long... it's only Friday... Now I'll have to start studying and catch up on the rest of my readings for my midterms coming up on Monday for Korean Modernization, review for my Intro to Korean Studies on Tuesday, then review some more for my Korean Language class that is on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Since I will be getting ready for midterms, I will try to upload by Thursday next week, if not I will be updating it on Friday night.
Thank you for always reading!
♡ Christina
