Food, Seoul Immigration Office, and My 1st Day of Class

I felt like I haven't updated in a long time but it has only been 5 days. It has been a busy weekend and week. I'll be starting with our trip to Yeongdeungpo to meet up with Shena's friend, Ian, to street buskers and performers to staying at the Immigration Office for over 6 hours then to how our first day of class went.

Saturday 8/29th:

Traveling to Yeongdeungpo and meeting with Shena's friend, Ian. This is the street that we went down to eat.

Around 9 PM, we came back to Sichon and saw people busking. It was really fun and interesting. I always wanted to experience busking and I didn't have to go to Hongdae to experience it :]

We got ice cream in a fish shaped bun! I got red beans and Shena got custard. At first, we didn't know the price so I asked the Ahjusshi and he said that one was 3,000 wons and 2 was for 5,000 wons (from my memory) and I said I'll get two. But, then he said something else pointing to the left pan and right pan of the fish buns and I was so confused. He saw that I was confused because I was totally quiet and said if I wanted one of each and I was like, "oh, yes!" This was all in Korean, too! Then after paying, I tried the ice cream and it was a little sour and sweet, but I liked it. It was sweet for Shena though. I thought that we had different types of ice cream but that wasn't the case. It was only after getting to the bottom of our fish bun's tail that there was a filling in there that I knew what the Ahjusshi was asking me earlier when he was pointing to the different pans of fish buns.

This was one other performance from a street performer who didn't sing. He was doing tricks instead.I don't remember which night this was from but maybe it was Sunday night...

Monday 8/31:

Since school didn't start until Tuesday, we decided to head to the Immigration Office to apply for our Alien Registration Card. We got up and left around 8:30 AM. After walking for a while in the heat, we finally get to the street across from the Immigration Office at 9 AM. 

We had our copies made, document filled out, waiting ticket, paid for the process and waited on the 1st floor. It wasn't even the floor we were suppose to be on so we wasted about half an hour here. Shena got us another waiting ticket on the 3rd floor for people living in the Seodaemun jurisdiction and I was #143.... They were only on the #20s which meant that there were over 100 people waiting before us!

We decided to walk out and get breakfast and went to Lotteria after walking down the street.

After hours waiting at the Immigration Office after being told to go to the 2nd floor and getting another waiting ticket number, we were finally able to leave at 4PM. We went to walk around to see what we wanted to eat and went into the department store since they always have a food court section. While walking, we saw a Line and Kakao store. I didn't take any of the Line store though.

After walking around, we decided to eat chicken instead and left the department store to Hot Sun near our room.

I'll be attending this festival this weekend :] I'm so exited!! I will get to see JYP's new boy group, Day 6, and Epitone Project, one of the Indie band I found out recently through "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" earlier this year :] on Saturday then more artists that I like are going to perform on Sunday, Roy Kim ♡ :]

Tuesday 9/1:

Walking to our first class.

The construction people have done a lot in a small amount of time. Before it used to be only dirt, but now they put up trees, bushes and even grass. Today I saw Ahjummas putting on the grasses :] and the other week, I saw the Ahjusshis laying down the sidewalks.

Our first class and the teacher didn't show up after 25 minutes so we left. I learned later, through Debbie's experience of her other class, that the professor came in later. We were told that only have the class was there. I'll see what happens next week...

From my view. I was the last person to do the interview test, but was the 2nd one to leave the exam room. I only did 2 and a half pages of the test :[ (I learned just now that I am in Level 1 section 2. I don't know if that's low but I hope it fast enough, if not, I'll have to speak to the professor to change my level...)

Curry for dinner last night :] 

I'm going to drop my Pre-Modern Korea class as it is across campus from my next class. I'll be able to use another class for transfer credit even if I dropped this class, so it is all well :] I'll have a total of 15 units instead of 18 :]
