Yonsei Orientation

Shena doesn't like taking pictures :]

Orientation for Yonsei's Exchange students began today. It started from 10:30 AM until 5 PM with a lunch break from 12-2 PM. I woke up early today as well, 6:30 AM but I must say that it was the latest I've woken up the past few days. I only remember one day where I woke up at 5 AM and tried to go back to sleep and woke up around 9 AM. We ate breakfast around 8:45 AM and I noticed that it was raining :]

Waiting until 10 to enter the hall to pick up our orientation packets

We set off at 9:30 and got there in about 15 minutes. The walk was already killing me. I'll have to get used to walking and to taking stairs, lol. The students met up at the Main Auditorium. Shena and I was not even sure if we were going the right way but got there just by walking straight. Yonsei is also under going construction right now so some of the paths are blocked off.

They officially started off the orientation at 11 with multiple speeches and information on classes and life in Korea. We also signed up for Korean Culture Activities. Too bad that the KBS Company tour was filled up so fast! The Ceramic tour was also filled up too, surprisingly. I, instead, signed up for the Kimchi Making and Korean Nanta (Drumming on recycled products, if I remembered correctly from the brief information given during orientation). It was a total of 80,000 Korean Won. We were given speeches from two previous exchange students on culture shock.

It was already 12:10 PM so students were given 2 hours for lunch break. Shena and I walked back to our room and ate Jjajangmyun :] The Ahjumma gave me a cup of orange juice~  She also gave me the extra key so now Shena and I have our own set of keys. We headed back to campus around 1:30 PM.

Leaving back to our room for lunch break
Our yummy lunch~

We go there in about 10-15 minutes and headed inside. They started again at 2:10 PM with performances from Fever! They were pretty good~~ There was also preformances from MUO, a street band, and a performance on Traditional Korean drummings (I forgot their name :[) These were really fun to watch!

Watch their performances below:

Afterwards, some clubs came to present about themselves. Most of the clubs presented and highly promoted the Korean drinking and clubbing culture (not my style, lol). After learning more about the services around school, we ended with signing up for Seoul Tour and then heading home.

Shena and I signed up for the 27th and 28th day tours. We'll be going to Gyeongbokgung (Palace) and the Hanok Village on Thursday then on Friday, we will be touring the War Memorial, Namsam Trick Museum, and Namsam Tower! It was 20,000 won in total~ So excited!

Thanks for reading~~
